::PROGRAMMING

Our programming for 2010 is in its very early stages.  Below is a taste of some of the things that you can expect.  More specific information will be posted as soon as its available.

Outlantacon @ Night:

You want entertainment? You want a show? You want a night out on the town? We hear ya — and you won't even have to leave the hotel to get it!

We have a killer line-up planned for you both nights! For evening entertainment, we've gotcha covered!

FRIDAY:

10:00—SYRENS OF THE SOUTH
Syrens of the SouthJoin us for the premiere burlesque show in Atlanta! Begun in 2004, the Syrens now perform regularly at the Little Tree Studios and they'll be bringing their multifaceted show to Outlantacon! But this isn't your average burlesque show — this is geared specifically to the geek audience! You'll have to be there to see what we mean! But expect to see one or two of your favourite comic book characters in situations you might have only imagined them in!

SATURDAY:

8:00—MATCH GAME
Match GameYou remember Match Game, right? That quintessential 70s television game show, hosted by Gene Rayburn, in which a panel of celebrities tried to match answers with players to questions like "Every morning, John puts _________ on his cereal" and "Did you catch a glimpse of that girl on the corner? She has the world's biggest _________." We'll have a panel of our Guests who will match wits with players pulled from the audience. Its one of the funniest hours you'll experience.

9:00—PROJECT COSPLAY
Project CosplayYes! The gayest of all reality competition shows comes to Outlantacon! Join your hosts Heidi Plume and Tim's Gun as they lead a team of designers to create a new look for for a group of models. Materials will be provided, and the designers will have a short period of time to create their look. Then the models will perform on the Outlantacon catwalk! Its sure to be — well — an interesting experience if nothing else! And if you want to show off your own costume, participate in our Masquerade and help entertain the troops while the designers are desgining!

11:00—STROBELIGHT
StrobleightTo close out the night, we have local band Strobelight, a tribute to the three biggest gay rock bands to emerge from the Atlanta area — The Indigo Girls, REM and the B-52s! You'll hear great songs like "Closer to Fine", "Losing My Religion", "Love Shack", "Shame On You", "The One I Love", and of course the greatest party song ever written, "Rock Lobster"!

Other Events:

PANELS:
Like any good con, we'll have panel discussions on a wide range of topics. Check the Schedule page for a complete list of events we had in 2009, and check the Panels page for descriptions of all the 2009 panels. With the move to the new hotel, we'll be expanding all these areas a bit, so think of this as just a sampler.

GAMING:
We'll have a fully stocked game room running all weekend long. Open gaming will be available any time the room is open, but there will also be 'organized' gaming events scheduled throughout the weekend.

COSTUMING:
We encourage costuming of all types at Outlantacon. While we will have no formal masquerade or costume contest, we may have a hallway costume event of some type. Stay tuned!

SPECIAL EVENTS:
We will be hosting a number of special events in 2010, including some new late night events.  Stay tuned for more!

WORKSHOPS:
In May 2009 we hosted a number of workshops on writing and gamemastering.  We will be continuing that tradition in 2010.  If you'd be interested in running such a workshop, please contact Alan with your idea.

FILMS / VIDEOS:
We'll be expanding the amount of video content for 2010 due to the move to the new hotel, which offers us greater programming opportunities.  If you'd like to host a screening of your independant film please contact Alan.
